Poor Man's Steak

You can make these in one a portable skillet. Therefore, this became popular when the Dudleys were remodeling their kitchen and didn't have a stove.

1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
1/2 c. milk
1 c. soft bread crumbs
1 tsp. salt
Pepper to taste
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 c. water

Combine meat, milk, bread crumbs, salt and pepper and shape into patties. Coat in flour, then brown in pan slightly coated with oil or shortening. When both sides are browned, add soup, water and Worcestershire sauce. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes.
