Pretzel Salad

Many great finds come from yard-sales, including this recipe from "The New Fairfield Favorites." The original town of Fairfield, after 160 years of existence, was "torn down, the trees removed, and the cemetaries relocated" in order to construct the Brookville Dam. "Now the lake covers all visible traces of the town," so the town of New Fairfield was established on a hill overlooking the water that covered the place where they once lived.

1/3 cup sugar
1` cup broken pretzels (1 inch pieces)
1 stick butter

Bake at 7 minutes at 400. Set aside to cool.

1 (8 oz.) package cream cheese
1/2 cup sugar
1 (20 oz) can crushed pineapple
1 large cool whip

Mix cheese and sugar. Add pineapple and cool whip. Add pretzels after cooled well. Refrigerate for 3-4 hours.
