Puff Corn

This recipe was originally from Cleo Broermann. Julie now likes making this for Grandpa.

12 oz bag of Mikesell's puffcorn
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 1/2 sticks butter (3/4 cup)
3/4 cup light karo syrup
1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Spray large roaster pan with pam and put puffcorn in it. Melt butter in 3qt. microwave safe bowl. Add brown sugar and karo syrup and stir until smooth. Microwave on high for 5 minutes. Immediately stir in baking soda. Mixture will become foamy. Pour over puffcorn and stir with rubber spatula to coat evenly. Bake for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes. Cool on wax paper and store in airtight container.
